Project Overview
Crews mobilized in response to an urgent repair on the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt. The event resulted in the temporary closure of both Northbound and Southbound lanes to ensure public safety and allow for repair operations.
Work included excavation and removal of compromised material, soil stabilization, reconstruction of the affected roadway section, and installation of appropriate support measures to restore the highway surface and underlying soil conditions. Crews worked through day and overnight shifts to secure the site and mitigate further settlement, while coordinating closely with the Ministry of Transportation and maintenance partners.
Following completion of repair activities, the highway was reopened in both directions with traffic restored and detours lifted. The project required rapid mobilization, effective traffic management, and ongoing communication with stakeholders and the public throughout the repair period.
