Project Overview

This project involved construction of a temporary detour and bridge structure to maintain traffic flow during replacement of an existing bridge crossing over Snass Creek along Highway 3.

Work began with clearing and tree removal to establish access and create space for the detour alignment. Temporary works included installation of lock block retaining walls and backfilling to support placement of the temporary bridge structure. A crane was utilized to set bridge components and structural elements safely and efficiently within the constrained corridor.

Additional scope included riprap placement and slope stabilization to protect embankments and support long-term durability of the crossing. Due to the in-stream environment, construction activities were carried out with environmental monitoring and sediment control measures in place to protect the creek and surrounding habitat.

Work remains ongoing as the project progresses toward completion in 2026.
