Project Overview
Work along the dike north of Wells Line Road and west of Cole Road included bank armouring and environmental restoration to stabilize the riverbank and protect against erosion.
The scope included instream isolation and sediment control, stripping and clearing, excavation and disposal of contaminated material, and the placement of filter gravel, riprap, rounded rock, and sand to reinforce approximately 60 metres of bank. Environmental restoration was also a key component of the work, with planting of willow stakes and shrubs, followed by final landscaping using topsoil, mulch, and seed.
The project required careful coordination between construction activities and environmental controls due to the sensitive location. Crews completed the work in alignment with environmental requirements while maintaining safe and efficient operations on site.
